Material Handler LeadWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler Lead, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, and conveying materials within or near our plant, yard, or work site. You will perform a combination of tasks under specific direction, which may include shipping and/or receiving.Key Responsibilities:Load, unload, and convey materials within or near plant, yard, or work sitePerform a combination of tasks under specific direction, which may include shipping and/or receivingOpen containers using hand toolsCount, weigh, and sample materialsUse computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and recording informationLoad and unload materials onto or from: + Pallets + Trays + Multi-level racks + Trucks by handConvey materials using: + Hand truck + Forklift + Electric dolly + Other devicesStack or assemble materialsBuild and prepare crates for shipping, ensuring proper packaging and protection of materialsRead and interpret drawings and schematics to ensure accurate handling and storage of materialsHandle hazardous materials shipments, adhering to 49 CFR and IATA regulations, including: + Proper labeling and packaging of hazardous materials + Completion of required documentation, such as shipping papers and certificates of analysis + Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for transportation and storage of hazardous materialsRequired Education, Experience, & SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a material handling or logistics role, preferably in a defense or manufacturing environment.Experience with inventory management, warehouse operations, and shipping/receiving processes.Familiarity with material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).Knowledge of inventory management software and warehouse management systems.Ability to read and understand technical documents, such as material safety data sheets (MSDS) and shipping labels.Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.Physical ability to lift, push, and pull materials and equipment.Preferred Education, Experience, & SkillsExperience ERP systems such as Deltek CostPointKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodology.Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)).-2 year degree -Previous US Government property accountability management experience -Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and writtenPay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $45249 - $72399 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
