Overview Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic III - Deployed OnlyJoin to apply for the Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic III - Deployed Only role at Sierra Nevada Corporation.Responsibilities Inspecting, servicing, maintaining, testing and storing aerospace ground service vehicles and equipment to support aircraft flight and maintenance operations.Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aerospace ground and service equipment (AGE).Inspect, test, and operate AGE to determine serviceability and proper operation.Diagnose mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions.Remove, disassemble, repair, clean, treat for corrosion, assemble, and reinstall AGE accessories and components.Provide dispatch services for AGE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations, and prepare AGE for storage and mobility deployment.Assist with Tool Room Crib operations, including issuing tools and maintaining tool programs and inventory.Qualifications You Must Have High School Diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experienceA higher-level degree may substitute for experienceRelated experience may be considered in lieu of required educationExposure to technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publicationsAbility to understand and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publicationsExperience performing the following:Experienced with periodic government inspectionsAbility to perform load testing on aircraft jacksDemonstrate the ability to perform periodic inspections and maintenanceDemonstrate the ability to maintain AGE equipment recordsFamiliar with multiple tools and its useRemoval and replacement of partsUnderstanding of electronics, refrigeration, hydraulics, power generation, engines, pneumatics and heatingModerate skills in servicing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and preventive maintenance on motor and engine-driven generator sets, air conditioners, hydraulic test stands, air compressors, heaters and other similar equipmentUnderstanding the use, maintenance, and repair of a variety of hand and power tools; tool room management and inventory (plus corrosion control)Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is requiredMust have an active US driver's licenseWilling to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 60/30 rotationAbility to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locationsSuccessfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessmentWilling and able to work extended hours, holidays, and shift schedules as requiredQualifications We Prefer Formal Technical trainingFAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experienceTool Room Crib Assistant experienceBackground in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US MilitaryCompany and Benefits At Sierra Nevada Company, LLC (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technology and best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
