Central Supply Clerk

Responsible for maintaining the central supply system, the inventory of items, and dispensing of items as needed.

Qualifications:

1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Knowledgeable of medical supplies and equipment ordering and stocking procedures.

1. Must be organized and capable of keeping track of medical supplies and equipment.
2. Must present a professional appearance.
3. Pleasant and courteous to supply vendors.
4. Able to work with people and various departments.
5. Knowledgeable in using computer based ordering platforms and excel spreadsheets.
6. Work independently with little or no supervision.

Physical Demands:

1. Able to see, hear, and communicate adequately to complete all job duties and responsibilities.
2. Able to be on feet standing or walking 3-5 hours per day.
3. Able to carry out fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
4. Able to lift and position supplies weighing 60-70 lbs. as needed by job.
5. Able to bend, stoop, squat, and lift numerous times during the day without fatigue or problem.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Follow the established purchasing guidelines of company and center, i.e., purchase supplies from contracted vendors, inventory requirements, etc.

2. Ensure that adequate supplies are on hand to meet the demands of the Nursing department.

1. Maintain adequate supplies on each unit to meet the needs of all patients. Insure the availability of all supplies to each shift.
2. Inventory stock on each unit daily. Research those items that are not in inventory nor accounted for and assure proper accountability.
3. Assist the bookkeeper in maintaining charge listing of all supplies and update as necessary.
4. Be available to Bookkeeping to ensure accuracy of monthly CSR charge entries.
5. Assist to maintain properly functioning equipment needed by patients.
6. Purchase, receive, and inventory all oxygen supplies.
7. Relay tube feeding orders to vendors and receive supplies and distribute and coordinate necessary paperwork with suppliers.
8. Coordinate the ordering of special supplies and equipment with the vendor who supports center in serving ventilator patients/hi-tech nursing care patients, etc.
9. Assist the Dietary department in ordering tube feeding supplies. Perform necessary accounting functions related to ordering.
10. Other duties as directed by Director of Nursing/Administrator.
