Maritime Maintenance Technician

Position Description:
Network Runners is seeking a Maritime Maintenance Technician to support the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), 720th Special Tactics Group (720th STG), and Special Tactics Training Squadron (STTS). The Maritime Maintenance Technician provides maintenance and repair support for Special Operations Forces maritime craft and associated equipment. The technician services maritime vessels, trailers and engines; supports boatdriver operations for dives and waterbased training; coordinates major repairs; conducts inspections and inventories; and ensures compliance with Navy 3M maintenance and accountability programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide maintenance and repair for SOFspecific and generalpurpose maritime vessels, trailers and engines.
  • Support boatdriver operations for dives, alternate insertion/extraction events and deliberate water jumps.
  • Coordinate with the unit's authorized representative to arrange major repairs or overhauls of watercraft, engines and equipment.
  • Schedule and conduct required inspections, servicing and reporting in accordance with organizational and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Conduct, track and project inventories of all unit watercraft and associated equipment; utilize required security and safety practices and wear protective equipment as appropriate.
  • Comply with higher headquartersmandated Navy 3M reporting, inspections and accountability programs.
Required/Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a maritime maintenance mechanic.
  • Valid Florida Boating License.
  • Ability to lift 40pounds and work in physically rigorous shop and outdoor environments, including nonclimatecontrolled settings.
  • Knowledge of boat maintenance procedures, engine repair and safety practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
