1. DEFINITION:
Makes the first connection with guests upon their arrival and escorts them to their table. Provides menus and information about the restaurant to customers, then informs the server of their new tables. Works with other managers, servers, and bussers to maintain an effective speed of seating. Assists roaming guests with directions or any information they may need to help improve their experience. Manage special seating requests and the cleanliness of bathrooms.
2. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess excellent customer service skills including pleasant and friendly demeanor.
2. Must be able to communicate and understand the primary language(s) of the work location, and understand the primary language(s) of the guests who typically visit the work location.
3. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
4. Must be able to work flexible hours; Monday through Sunday for no more than a 25 week seasonal period.
3. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
1. Graciously greets guests upon their arrival and escorts them to a table, balancing the customer flow among the service stations, taking into account requests for a particular table or server, depending on availability.
2. Maintains customer waiting lists and quotes estimated wait times when there is no table availability.
3. Communicates with management regarding customer observations and/or criticisms about Fudpucker's products and services.
4. Is knowledgeable about Fudpucker's history, menu offerings, specials, promotions, entertainment schedules, and other matters about which guests may inquire.
5. Ensures that all guests are thanked for their business.
6. Maintains the hostess stand in a clean, safe, and organized manner throughout and after each shift. Replenishes supplies as necessary.
7. Complies with all Fudpucker's policies and procedures as per the Employee Handbook.
8. May assist others and perform other appropriate duties and routines as requested by the FOH Manager and/or other management personnel.
4. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
1. Must be able to communicate clearly with guests and other employees.
2. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
3. Must be able to frequently go up and down stairs.
Compensation: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
