Electrical Quality Inspector (IPC)

Type of Position:

This position will begin as a 6-month contract, with strong potential for long-term employment. While the contract is initially set for 6 months, there is no fixed end date, and extensions beyond the initial term are possible. Conversion to a direct hire role may occur as early as 3 months, depending on individual performance and business needs. Although direct hire is not guaranteed, it is a common outcome for high-performing team members, and most contractors in this role do transition to permanent positions over time.

Candidate Requirements:

This role is ONLY open to US Citizens. Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders) and any other work authorizations are NOT permitted here as this role requires eligibility to obtain a secret clearance (a secret clearance is only open to US Citizens). To be clear, a clearance isn't required to start (but all candidates must be eligible to obtain one eventually). Due to the nature of this role (working for a defense contractor tied to the federal government) - candidates may need to pass a drug screen (which would include cannabis). There would be no exceptions to this (eg: a medical card).

Job Location:

Fort Walton Beach, FL (on site role).

Compensation:

$32.00/hr to start. Overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.

HRU Technical Resources is partnering with a leading defense contractor to hire a skilled Electrical Quality Inspector. This will be a hands-on role in which you'll inspect high-reliability electrical assemblies used in mission-critical aerospace and defense systems. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform visual inspection of in-process and completed electronic/electrical assembled products, including Electronic Assemblies, Electrical Cables and Harnesses, Surface Mount and Thru-Hole Circuit Card Assemblies, using predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications.
• Utilize various measuring devices and testing equipment to assess components and assemblies.
• Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems as necessary.
• Work from blueprints, diagrams, customer and regulatory specifications, drawings, inspection instructions, and checklists.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Skills, Education, Experience - Required:

• High school diploma or GED required at a minimum. Higher level experience (Associate or Bachelor's Degree) is welcome.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of quality control principles, practices, and standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience using microscopes, eye loupes, and other magnification devices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, drawings, inspection instructions, and other technical documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.

Skills, Education, Experience - Preferred:

• IPC-610 and J-STD-001 Certification preferred.
• IPC-610 and IPC-620 Instructor Certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in electronic assembly preferred.
• Associate's degree in a technical field such as engineering, quality engineering, or a related discipline preferred.

Work Environment:

• This is a 1st (day) shift role. Typical hours are 10:00am to 6:00pm (Monday to Friday).
• There may be occasional overtime in this role. Any OT will be paid at 1.5x.
