Plans, organizes and directs the operations and activities of the Growth Management Department. EXAMPLES OF WORK - Directs personnel functions of the department to include interviewing/hiring, performance and discipline of staff. - Directs the planning staff in the processing of current and long-range planning applications (i.e., rezoning, plat approvals, exceptions, marine-related approvals, updating of codes and ordinances). - Directs the inspection staff in the review of building plans, permit issuance, construction inspection and enforcement of building, housing, zoning and contractor licensing codes. - Administers the Countys Community Rating System program with FEMA. - Administers department operations and ensures adherence to county codes and ordinances, state and federal and regulatory practices. - Plans, develops and implements department operating budget, and monitors costs and expenditures. - Coordinates the work of consultants and agencies concerning planning, construc...Director, Management, Growth, Operations
