Position Overview:
The Director of Finance and Accounting is a senior manager position within SocoSIX Strategies and plays a key role in ensuring the business stays on track financially and providing information to support decision making. This position is responsible for developing financial strategies and managing the company's financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and accounting team. This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer and Vice President and liaise with sales and operations departments. Leadership skills, effective communication skills, attention to detail, strong analytical ability, and knowledge of accounting standards and legal requirements are required.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional verbal and written communication
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and leadership skills
  • Seven to ten years of relevant professional experience in accounting or financial management
  • Prior experience working with QuickBooks (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics from an accredited four-year college or university

General Responsibilities:

  • Lead, direct, and support the work of the accounting team
  • Generate accurate and timely financial reports
  • Prepare tax schedules and returns, and ensure the company pays taxes timely and accurately
  • Develop and monitor operating budgets and analyze variances
  • Develop and monitor internal control processes
  • Reconcile all accounts
  • Execute cash disbursements
  • Perform essential functions related to payroll and benefits
  • Other corporate or related duties as assigned
