Site Safety & Health Manager

Pay $80,000-$120,000 (flexibility here)

Must Haves:

• 5+ years of experience in safety management, preferably within the construction or electrical contracting industry.

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (required).

• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and other relevant safety standards.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication and leadership abilities.

• Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Plusses:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or equivalent (preferred).

Day-to-Day:

The Safety Manager is responsible for assisting in the development of, implementing, and maintaining the safety programs and policies for an electrical contracting company. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations while fostering a culture of safety and risk mitigation. The Safety Director will collaborate with project managers, foremen, and field staff to minimize workplace hazards and promote employee well-being.

Responsibilities:

  1. Safety Program Development and Implementation
  2. Design and implement comprehensive safety programs tailored to electrical contracting operations
  3. Develop policies, procedures, and training programs to meet OSHA, NFPA, and other applicable safety standards.
  4. Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses for ongoing and upcoming projects
  5. Training and Education
  6. Organize and lead safety training for employees, including new hire orientations and regular refresher courses.
  7. Educate staff on best practices, hazard recognition, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  8. Compliance and Inspections
  9. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards
  10. Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and enforce safety protocols.
  11. Maintain all required safety documentation, including incident reports and training records
  12. Incident Investigation and Reporting
  13. Investigate workplace accidents and near-misses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  14. Prepare and submit incident reports to regulatory agencies as required
  15. Collaboration and Leadership
  16. Partner with project teams to proactively address safety concerns.
  17. Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters.
  18. Promote a culture of safety through effective communication and leadership.
