Resident Project Representative (RPR) - Aviation

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking a Resident Project Representative (RPR) for the Destin Fort Walton area. The RPR will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects in the building and site development construction sector meet the requirements of the contract documents. The RPR will also be the Owner's liaison for coordinating construction contact operations with the ongoing operations of the Airport. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be able to identify any potential issues or problems that may arise during the construction process.
Responsibilities
- Onsite presence to coordinate and schedule staff, answer questions, observe quality control activities, process progress reports and pay requests, and record as-built changes.
- Monitor compliance with plans and specifications, acquire field measurements, provide entries in the construction diary, assist in pay request processing, report non-compliance issues to Owner, and record as-built changes.
- Maintain a construction diary to record the construction history of the Project. The diary will be made available to the Owner upon request for review during site visits. The Project diary should include, but not be limited to:
- Weather conditions and job site conditions.
- Work in progress and general location of work.
- Equipment in use and contractors' workforce and hours worked.
- Delivered materials and tests performed (including failed tests and actions taken).
- Instructions to contractors.
- Records of visitors to the Project.
- Verbal or written instructions provided.
- Records of telephone conversations and authorizations granted.
- Engineering field force activity and hours worked.
- Delays to construction and observed reasons for delays.
Qualifications - Ability to read and understand construction documents, drawings, and specification.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain a security badge for the Airport secure areas. The badging process requires a 10-year background check and submittal of fingerprints to the Transportation Security Administration of the Department of Homeland Security (TSA / DHS).
- Must complete a pre-employment screening; ICE is a drug-free workplace.
Education and Experience Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in building construction inspection or supervision.
- All Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity and use of ProCore and Primavera a plus.
Physical and Environmental RequirementsThe role involves moderate physical activity such as walking, standing, bending, and climbing stairs or ladders. Employees may occasionally lift objects weighing up to 80 pounds. It is essential for employees to navigate construction sites skillfully and conduct thorough inspections of materials and structures.
Employees must have the ability to visually discern and differentiate details and colors of objects, and proficiency in recognizing sound, tone, and pitch. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary. The role demands adaptability to interruptions and changes in workflow, as well as the capacity to sit for extended periods. Employees must be capable of working in varied environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy settings, and be able to stand and walk during site visits. Additionally, working on construction projects may involve night work and weekend work depending on the project scope and may include working in conditions with active traffic.
Expected Hours of WorkThe minimum project construction site(s) hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing an unpaid hour for lunch daily. Work schedules may vary according to the project schedule. Night and weekend work may be required. This inspector will report to the project site daily and will attend meetings at the Tampa office as required.
